I often tune into the 10.3 channel and watch
the KTEN radar especially during severe weather...
Not only do we tune in, but I also have a PC
monitor located at our business that is tied to
a converter box.
We actually use the audio feed from
Sherman NOAA radio that is broadcasted as
the audio is fed to a decoder that is
programmed with the SAME code, so alerts
activate a hand held radio at work letting
everyone know about severe weather over
our local business band radios.
I will sure miss the Radar channel that is up
24 hours a day. It gives us a good warning tool
to see what is approaching when other stations
simply don't display this information.
It would be very nice if KTEN could add this to
possibly a 10.4 channel. Again, it is a fantastic
addition to warning all the people in the KTEN
viewing area. Very beneficial tool for early
warnings to know what is approaching.
WeatherWatcherTim, 2 years ago | FlagI wanted to add that it is not that we don't get prompts and break-ins on programmin
g when warranted, it is very nice for us to see what the KTEN doppler radar show us over the air as it is a constant updated image that is far superior to other radars that I have seen. Perhaps I am the only one that really likes the channel, but it is a fantastic weather informatio
n source in my opinion.
